Skoda has recently launched the Kushaq mid-sized SUV in the country at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh. The SUV is available in two engine options – a 1.0L 3-cylinder TSI and a 1.5L 4-cylinder TSI. Skoda has only started delivering of the Kushaq 1.0L variants, while the deliveries for the Kushaq’s with bigger capacity engines will commence at a later stage.
Replying to a tweet, Skoda India Director, Zac Hollis said that deliveries of Kushaq 1.5L TSI will commence from August 11, 2021. Adding to it, he confirmed that the company will continue to launch additional models and trims of the Kushaq mid-sized SUV throughout its entire life cycle. The launch timelines of these variants could not be disclosed at the moment.
We reported earlier that Skoda will launch a top-of-the-line Monte Carlo edition of the Kushaq. This variant is expected to be offered with 1.5-litre TSI engine with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It will come with some design upgrades and new comfort and convenience features.
Engine Specs
The Kushaq’s 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged engine is capable of producing 113bhp of power and 178Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.5L Turbo engine churns out 147bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices includes a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor with 1.0L and a 7-speed DSG with 1.5L petrol.
Prices & Features
The Kushaq is available in 3 trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style – priced between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh. The SUV is available in a choice of 5 colours – Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, Honey Orange, Tornedo Red and Candy White.
In terms of proportions, the SUV is 4,225mm long, 1,760mm wide and 1,612mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,651mm. It comes with a ground clearance of 188mm, which is lowest in the segment. The SUV offers a boot space of 385-litres that can be increased by up to 1450-litres by folding rear seat.
Key features include a a free-standing 10-inch touchscreen with VW Group’s new ‘Play’ infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, in-car Wi-Fi, a USB Type-C ports, an electric sunroof, a cooled glovebox, ambient cabin lighting, electronic stability control (ESC), a multi-collision braking system, auto headlamp, a rear parking camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system and hold control.
