Honda Elevate Trademark Filed In India; New 7-Seater SUV?

Japanese automaker, Honda Motor Company Limited has trademarked the ‘Elevate’ name in India. This could be the name for the brand’s upcoming 7-seater SUV, which was first previewed as the Honda N7X concept in Indonesia. It is rumoured to come as the next-gen BR-V in Indonesia. Honda could bring this SUV as a replacement for the discontinued BR-V crossover in India.

Patent images of the new SUV have already been leaked on the Internet, which suggests that the 7-seater SUV looks exactly similar to the N7X concept. The production version of the SUV is expected to be unveiled in August 2021. The SUV is not likely to arrive in our market in 2021; however, a possible launch in 2022 can’t be ignored.

The leaked patent images reveal that the Honda Elevate or the production version of the Honda N7X will come with the brand’s Lane Watch System, which is also available in the new City sedan. The Honda’s Lane Watch System monitors the left side of the car to reduce the driver’s blind spot.

The Honda Elevate will rival the likes of the Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia, Mitsubishi XPander and others in Indonesia. The 7-seater SUV will share the platform and mechanics with the City sedan. Honda claims that the new N7X concept based SUV will offer the best of SUV and MPV body styles, and will be suitable for all type of road conditions.

Honda is yet to make an official announcement on the launch of the N7X concept based SUV in India. If it launch in India, it will be positioned against the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus. This year, Honda will launch the Hybrid version of the City sedan.
