Skoda Auto recently unveiled its upcoming all-new Kushaq mid-size SUV for the global market. The model will hit our roads in July 2021. With the unveiling of the Skoda Kushaq, the carmaker has removed the Karoq SUV from its official website on temporary basis due to some global circumstances.
The 5-seater SUV was brought to India via CBU (Completely Built Up) route in a single variant at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It was positioned against the Jeep Compass and Volkswagen T-Roc. Compared to its arch rivals, the Skoda Karoq was slightly expensive.
Under the hood, the Skoda Karoq employs a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The motor has been tuned for producing power worth 150bhp against 250Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels. The SUV offers a claimed mileage of 14.49kmpl and is capable to attain a top speed of 202kmph. Read – New Skoda Octavia Launch Details Out
As mentioned above, the Karoq was being offered in a single fully-loaded variant. Its feature kit includes full LED headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, configurable ambient lighting and more. On the safety front, it offers 9 airbags, brake assist, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, hill start assist and a rear parking camera.
Talking about the upcoming Skoda Kushaq, the mid-size SUV is the production-ready version of the Vision IN concept that was previewed at the last year’s Auto Expo. Based on the MQB A0 IN platform, the SUV will come with the 113bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 147bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine options. All variants will get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. While a 6-speed torque converter automatic will be reserved for the 1.0L petrol variants, a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission will be available with 1.5L petrol variants only.
