Royal Enfield’s 1st Launch in 2023 – Super Meteor 650

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 was first unveiled at the 2022 EICMA, followed by its India debut at the Rider Mania in Goa. The cruiser motorcycle will be the first major product launch from the Chennai-based in 2023. Prices of the model will be announced in early weeks of January. It will be the most expensive RE offering in the country. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs 3.5 lakh for the Standard variant and Rs 4 lakh for the Tourer version (ex-showroom).

The company has already revealed that the RE Super Meteor 650 Standard variant will be made available in two colour themes – Astral (Blue, Black and Green) and Interstellar (Grey and Green). The Tourer will come in Celestial (Blue and Red) paint scheme. It’s the third Royal Enfield to be built on the brand’s 650cc platform, but has all-new chassis.

The cruiser motorcycle has been packed with several features which are firsts for a RE model. The upcoming Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 comes with the full LED headlamp and a Showa USD fork suspension along with the Tripper navigation pod as standard fitment. The Standard variant, which is essentially the stripped down version, has small windscreen and pillion seat. The Tourer, on the other hand, features a relatively larger windscreen and pillion perch. The upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc bike derives power from the same 648cc, air and oil-cooled parallel twin engine that does duty in the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The motor pushes out a peak power of 47bhp at 7,250rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. Royal Enfield claims that the cruiser’s engine has bespoke mapping and gearing and it offers 80% of peak torque at 2,500rpm. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is the heaviest the brand’s heaviest bike carrying a kerb weight of 241kg.
