Nissan X-Trail SUV Launch In Mid 2023 – Fortuner Challenger

The Japanese automaker showcased the Nissan Qashqai, X-Trail and Juke SUVs in India in October 2022. In fact, the company has started testing its two global SUVs in the country. The Nissan X-Trail, which will be positioned against the Toyota Fortuner, is reported to hit showrooms in mid 2023. It will be the fourth-generation model, based on the Renault-Nissan’s CMF-C platform. The model will be brought here as low-volume CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit.

Interestingly, the new X-Trail will be the first Nissan e-Power hybrid car in India. Globally, the SUV is available with a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine boosted with the mild hybrid technology and a 1.5L turbo petrol unit with strong hybrid system. The mild hybrid version that comes with the 2WD (two-wheel drive), delivers power worth 163PS and 300Nm of torque. It accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 9.6 seconds and has an electronic speed limit of 200kmph.

Nissan X-Trail Hybrid India

The 1.5L turbo petrol engine with e-Power strong hybrid tech is offered with the 2WD and AWD drivetrain options. With 2WD and 4WD setup, it returns a claimed power of 204PS with 300Nm and 213PS with 525Nm respectively. The SUV’s strong hybrid version can do 0 to 100kmph in 8 seconds (2WD) and 7 seconds (4WD). It’s capable to attain a top speed of 170kmph (2WD) and 180kmph (4WD).

Dimensionally, the Nissan X-Trail measures 4680mm in length, 2065mm in width and 1725mm in height. Its wheelbase and ground clearance stand at 2750mm and 205mm respectively. The SUV (globally) is offered with two seating configurations – 5 and 7-seats. The middle row seats come with split ratio of 40:20:40 and the last row seats have a split ratio of 50:50.

Nissan X-Trail Hybrid

The new Nissan SUV has been packed with lots of goodies including the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity, a 360 degree camera, a 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD), tri-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, LED headlamps and an electric tailgate.
