Royal Enfield To Launch New Himalayan 450 & Roadster In India

It is no secret that Royal Enfield is developing multiple new motorcycles on different engine options including 350cc, new 450cc and 650cc. The company is preparing 3 new 650cc motorcycles, which will be launched in our market in 2023-24. Moreover, RE will introduce the new Bullet 350 and a single-seat Bobber based on the Classic 350. The company will also launch two new motorcycles, which will be based on the new 450cc engine platform. In this article, we talk about the upcoming 450cc Royal Enfield motorcycles in the country in the next couple of years – 

1. New RE Himalayan 450

Royal Enfield is preparing the new gen Himalayan 450 that has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The motorcycle will be based on an all-new platform and will come with a new powertrain. In terms of styling, the new RE Himalayan 450 will receive LED headlight, new 21-inch wire-spoke wheel, newly styled switchgear, a new instrument console with bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation. 

The new RE Himalayan 450 will receive a new 450cc liquid-cooled engine with a four valve setup. This engine is likely to produce around 35bhp and 40Nm of torque. It is expected to be paired by a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will come with Showa USD front forks and monoshock unit at the rear. For braking, the Himalayan 450 will get front and rear disc brakes along with the dual-channel switchable ABS (anti-lock braking system). 

2. New Royal Enfield 450cc Roadster

Royal Enfield will use the base of the new Himalayan 450 for a new roadster motorcycle that has been spotted testing a couple of times on the Indian roads. The new motorcycle will share its engine with the Himalayan 450. This neo-retro roadster features an upright riding position for the rider and slightly rear-set footpegs. It will have a swooping round tank, a large single-piece seat, LED lighting system, and Himalayan 450-like turn indicators. 

It will come with an all-new liquid-cooled engine, which will be coupled to an all-new chassis. The exhaust system will be shared with the Hunter 350. The motorcycle will have fork gaiters at the front and monoshock rear suspension unit. The motorcycle rides on uniquely styled cast alloy rims and are wrapped with CEAT tyres. The bike will have disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS.
