Royal Enfield Meteor 650 Rendered – What We Know So Far

We have reported earlier that Royal Enfield is working on the Classic 650 and Meteor 650 motorcycles. Both models are currently in their testing phase and are likely to hit roads in the next two years. The prototypes of the upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc cruisers were recently caught testing in the country. Based on the spy video, a latest digital rendering previews a possible design of the Royal Enfield Meteor 650. Visually, the rendered model looks similar to the Meteor 350. It carries circular headlamp, tear-drop fuel tank, round turn indicators and retro-styled taillamp.

Design bits such as alloy wheels and rear fender have also been carried forward from the Meteor 350. Though, its Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres have been borrowed from the 650 twins. Its engine and exhausts have sporty black finish. Compared to the Meteor 350, its more powerful version offers slightly higher seat and flatter saddle. The rendered Royal Enfield 650 Meteor features a semi-digital instrument cluster, a separate pod for a colour TFT display and ‘Tripper Screen’ for turn-by-turn navigation display via Google maps data.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 650cc cruiser will share their platform and engine with the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. It might come with the 648cc, twin-cylinder engine that pushes out a peak power of 47bhp at 7250rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5250rpm. While there is no official confirmation, Royal Enfield might tune the motor for enhancing its cruising character.

The suspension setup and braking system could also be borrowed from the RE Meteor 350. Its 650cc version might come with the same upside down front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The Royal Enfield 650 Meteor is likely to be assembled with the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels as we have seen on its 350cc model. Braking power will come from front and rear disc brakes along with the standard dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).
