2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor, Continental GT 650 To Get New Colours

Royal Enfield has a handful of new motorcycles that will arrive in coming years. Most of them are currently under their testing phase including the new-generation Classic 350. The Chennai-based bikemaker will also give a mid-life update to the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 twins towards the end of this year. As per the leaked information, the 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 will be made available in four new colour options – Ventura Blue, Giltter & Dust, Royal Red and Orange Crush along with Baker Express and Orange Crush. The updated Continental GT 650 will come in a choice of three new colours – British Racing Lean, GT Red and Mr. Clean along with Cookies and Cream and Venture Black and Blue.

Besides the new paint schemes, the new RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will also witness a few styling changes. Both bikes are likely to get Tripper Navigation that was recently introduced in the RE Meteor 350. It displays turn-by-turn navigation via Google maps data. No changes are likely to be made to their engines. The 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will use a 648cc, air-cooled parallel-twin engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The motor pushes out a peak power of 47bhp at 7150rpm and 52Nm of torque at 5250rpm.

The Interceptor 650 will continue to offer a fuel tank capacity of 13.4 litres and the Continental GT 650 will have a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 litres. Ground clearance of both models will remain identical – i.e. 174mm. While the Interceptor 650 retro roadster carries a dry weight of 202kg, the Continental GT 650 cafe racer is slightly lighter, weighing at 198kg.
