Royal Enfield Classic 650 India Testing Begins – Images

Royal Enfield will be on a bike launch spree in the coming years, with multiple new models in the pipeline ranging from 350cc to 650cc. The plan outlines six new 650cc motorcycles, likely including the Shotgun 650, Himalayan 650, Bullet 650, Classic 650, Scrambler 650, and a retro-styled Continental GT 650 racing bike. While we have already seen spy images and videos of the Shotgun 650 and Scrambler 650, the company has also begun testing the Royal Enfield Classic 650. The first set of spy images has emerged on the web, revealing some of its design elements.

Painted in a black shade, the test mule of the Royal Enfield Classic 650 features a retro-style circular headlight with position lights on either side. Similar to its 350cc sibling, it has a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a split seat. The test mule was riding on wire-spoke wheels. It has a long mudguard, upright handlebar, and center-set footpegs. At the rear, one can notice a circular taillamp and dual peashooter exhausts.

No further details are available, though we expect it to come with a color TFT display, a semi-digital instrument cluster, Tripper navigation display, two trip meters, and switchgear sourced from the Classic 350. The new 650cc cruiser could be equipped with telescopic forks upfront and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking power is likely to come from the front and rear disc brakes. The bike will also come with the standard dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system).

For power, the new Royal Enfield Classic 650 will use the same 648cc, oil-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that is used in the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The unit, with a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch, offers a peak power of 47bhp at 7250rpm and a maximum torque of 52Nm at 5250rpm.

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 launch timeline is yet to be revealed. It is expected to hit the roads in early 2025.
