The Mercedes AMG SL 55 roadster has finally made its way to India. The model, which is being brought here as a CBU unit, comes with a starting price of Rs 2.35 crore (ex-showroom, India). It’s a 4-seater performance-oriented car with a fabric roof. For those unaware, it’s the seventh-generation model of the roadster, replacing the sixth-gen SL, S-Class cabriolet, and AMG GT Roadster in the company’s global model lineup.

What’s inside? Well, the answer has a long list of features. While its interior layout seems inspired by the S-Class and C-Class, the roadster has several bespoke AMG elements. An 11.9-inch vertically placed touchscreen with Mercedes’ new-gen MBUX operating system instantly grabs your attention. The unit comes with multiple display options, such as soft-top display modes and bespoke AMT. It’s connected to a 12.3-inch LCD driver display. You can also notice the optional HUD (Heads-Up Display) behind the AMG twin-spoke steering wheel. The AMG SL 55 also offers an Airscarf function and a Burmester sound system.
How to customize the Mercedes AMG SL 55?
You can customize its interior with five different upholsteries: Black Nappa leather, Truffle Brown Nappa leather, Black Nappa leather and microfiber with red stitching, Black Nappa leather and microfiber with yellow stitching, and Sienna Brown Nappa leather. Furthermore, there are two interior trim options: Carbon fiber and Aluminum, and two seat options: AMG performance seats and AMG sports seats.

The fabric roof is available in three colors: Grey, Black, and Dark Red.
What powers the Mercedes AMG SL 55?
At the heart of the AMG SL 55 is a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo petrol engine, pumping out 476 horsepower and 700Nm of torque. That power is distributed to all four wheels and managed via Mercedes’ 4Matic+ system. For transmission duties, it has a 9-speed automatic gearbox. This allows the high-performance roadster to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 3.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of 295kmph.
