Renault Kiger subcompact SUV was recently spotted in three new monotone shades – Mahogany Brown, Caspian Blue and Moonlight Silver. The model lineup will also be available in Planet Grey and Ice Cool White paint scheme. All variants will come with a Mystery Black roof option, while the dual-tone Radiant Red with Black roof will be reserved for the top-end trim. The compact SUV has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its launch in March 2021.
The new compact SUV from Renault shares its platform, powertrains and features with its cousin – Nissan Magnite. It comes with the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 2.0L turbo petrol engine options. While the naturally aspirated unit delivers power worth 71bhp with 96Nm of torque, the turbo petrol motor makes 99bho with 160Nm. Both engines can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the smaller capacity motor gets an optional 5-speed AMT unit, the turbo petrol engine also comes with a CVT automatic gearbox.
Feature-wise, the Renault Kiger is among the most-packed machines in its segment. The compact SUV offers an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 7.0-inch fully digital TFT instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, keyless entry, steering mounted controls and more. Based on the CMF-A+ platform, the new Renault compact SUV measures 3991mm in length, 1750mm in width (without mirrors) and 1600mm in height (with roof bars). The model sits on a 2500mm long wheelbase and a 205mm of ground clearance. Its boot space has been rated at 405-litres, which s more than the Kia Sonet (392-litres) and Vitara Brezza (328-litres). Some of its key design elements include a winged grille, tri-beam LED projector headlamps with split setup, horizontally placed LED DRLs, aggressive front bumper, a sculpted bonnet, flared wheel arches, dual-tone diamond cut alloys, a floating roofline, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna and C-shaped LED taillamps with a faux skid plate.
