In terms of proportions, the Tata Nexon is 3,994mm in length, 1,821mm in width and 1,617mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. On the other hand, the Kiger is 3,991mm long, 1,750mm wide, 1,600mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm. The Nexon is 3mm longer, 71mm wider and 17mm taller than the Kiger. Adding to it, the wheelbase is 100mm longer than the French rival.

The Renault Kiger comes with a segment-largest 405-litres of boot space, which is 55-litres more than the Nexon’s 350-litres boot. Both SUVs ride on 17-inch alloys.

The Renault Kiger is available with two engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.0L NA engine produces 72bhp and 96Nm of torque. This version also gets an AMT option. On the other hand, the turbo unit is good for 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The Tata Nexon petrol version is propelled by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that is capable of producing 120bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

The Kiger’s 1.0L turbocharged with manual gearbox option is claimed to return an impressive fuel economy of 20kmpl. The company hasn’t release the fuel efficiency figures of the CVT version of the SUV. It is expected to deliver around 17-18kmpl. On the other side, the Nexon’s MT and AMT versions return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17kmpl.
