Renault Kardian SUV Revealed – Photos, Specs, Features

After a series of teasers, Renault has finally revealed the new Kardian SUV. The new Renault Kardian compact SUV will be aimed at emerging markets including South America. It will be sold in emerging markets where the French automaker is not selling the Kiger sub-4 meter SUV. The new Kardian will directly rival the Fiat Pulse that’s on sale in the South American market.

Based on the new CMF modular platform, the Renault Kardian compact SUV measures 4.12 meters in length. This platform is designed and developed for emerging markets and will be used to develop as many as eight models. In terms of styling, the new Renault Kardian compact SUV gets chunky bumpers, a large Renault signature double-layer grille, and a split headlamp set-up with LED DRLs on top and main unit on the lower bumper.

Renault Kardian Design

Renault has added significant amount of faux aluminium inserts on the Kardian compact SUV to offer a rugged look. Similar to the Kiger, the Renault Kardian SUV features a coupe-like bodyshell and high ground clearance with massive cladding on the wheel arches. At the back, the Kardian compact SUV comes with a C-shaped tail-lamps.

Inside the cabin, the new Renault Kardian compact SUV gets an all-new dashboard layout. It features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with smartphone connectivity, a four-spoke steering wheel, a faux brushed aluminium, a drive mode selector, and wood inserts with piano black finish, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Renault Kardian Interior Features

The new Renault Kardian compact SUV will be powered by an all-new 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 125bhp and 220Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

For reference, the Kiger gets a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that produces 100bhp and 160Nm of torque, and is paired to a CVT automatic gearbox.

Renault Kardian Specs

The new Kardian will share its modular platform with the upcoming third-gen Duster SUV, which is scheduled to make global debut under Dacia nameplate on November 29, 2023. The Kardian won’t be introduced in our market, as the Kiger is already on sale in our market.
