Suzuki eVX Electric SUV Interior, Exterior and India Launch Details

Suzuki Motor Corporation has unveiled the updated eVX electric SUV concept at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2023. This Japanese automaker has also taken the opportunity to showcase the production-ready new-generation Swift hatchback and the eWX small EV. Indian enthusiasts can look forward to the launch of the all-new Swift and the Maruti eVX electric SUV, set to debut in early 2024 and 2025, respectively. As electric mobility gains momentum in the Indian market, the Maruti eVX promises to be a formidable contender in the burgeoning electric SUV segment.

Let’s start with the powertrain. Although official details about the electric SUV are yet to be disclosed, the final version is expected to feature a 60kWh battery pack coupled with an electric motor. The new Maruti eVX is anticipated to offer an impressive range of 500km on a single charge, complemented by an all-wheel drive (AWD) system.

In terms of dimensions, the upcoming Maruti electric SUV will measure 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width, 1,600mm in height, and boast a wheelbase of 2,700mm. This means the model will be nearly as spacious as the Hyundai Creta, which also measures 4,300mm in length.

The eVX is built upon the 27PL platform, which is derived from Toyota’s 40PL global architecture. The vehicle’s exterior design features new tri-arrow LED DRLs, sleek headlamps, updated ORVMs, and a sporty bumper. Its side profile is enhanced with prominent wheel arches, alloy wheels, and flush-type door handles. Moving to the rear, you’ll find connected LED taillamps with a distinctive 3-piece lighting pattern, a substantial skid plate, and a new DRL light signature.

Inside the cabin, a minimalistic approach is evident. The new Suzuki eVX dispenses with physical buttons on the dashboard. Its standout feature is the dual-screen setup, with one screen dedicated to infotainment and the other serving as the instrument cluster. The electric SUV also boasts a yoke-like two-spoke steering wheel, vertically positioned AC vents, a rotary dial knob on the center console, ambient lighting, and dual-tone upholstery.

In India, the production-ready Maruti eVX will enter into direct competition with the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV. The estimated starting price for this electric SUV is around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
