RE Himalayan 452 Launch Details – More Images Out

We reported earlier that the much-awaited Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 adventure motorcycle will be unveiled on November 1, 2023. It is expected that the new Himalayan will go on sale in the country on November 7; however, RE is yet to make an official announcement on the same. Ahead of the official debut, RE has released some images and teaser videos of the adventure motorcycle.

The new RE Himalayan 452 adventure bike will be powered by an all-new 451.66cc liquid-cooled, 4-Valve engine with DOHC configuration. This engine is reportedly to produce around 39.57bhp of power at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 40-45Nm. The leaked info reveals that the motorcycle will have a power-to-weight ratio of around 201.4bhp/tonne, which is almost double from the existing Himalayan 411 (120.4bhp/tonne). The engine will be coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

For braking duties, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will receive disc brakes at both ends along with a dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The motorcycle will come with USD front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. It will be equipped with features like ride-by-wire technology, a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, and an all LED lighting system.

It is reportedly to be based on the RE’s new K1 double-cradle platform. In terms of proportions, the new Himalayan 452 is 2,245mm in length, 852mm in width, and 1,316mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,510mm.  The wheelbase is around 45mm longer than the Himalayan 411 that has 1,465mm wheelbase. The motorcycle’s length has been increased by 55mm to 2,245mm, while the width is increased by good 12mm. With optional handguards, the bike’s width will be around 900mm. The adventure motorcycle has a kerb weight of 196kgs, while the gross vehicle weight (GVW) stands at 394kg.

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 adventure bike feature 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels wrapped in off-road-ready rubber. The motorcycle’s styling is inspired from the existing version with proper ADV’s design elements.

It comes with round-shaped LED headlight, a beak-like fender, a bigger fuel tank and windscreen, split seating, and a compact tail-section. The “Himalayan” badging is placed on the fuel tank, front mudguard, side panel, and rear fender.

It is expected that the Royal Enfield will offer a series of accessories such as the crash guards, footpegs, seat options, handlebar guards, mirrors and luggage sets. The new motorcycle will be positioned right between the Classic 350 and the Interceptor 650. It will rival the KTM Adventure 390 and the BMW G310 GS.
