Over 9,000 Maruti Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6 Recalled

Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for its newly-launched Grand Vitara SUV along with the updated Ertiga and XL6 MPVs. The recall exercise includes a total of 9,125 units manufactured between 2nd – 28th November, 2022. The company says there is a possible defect in one of the child parts of the shoulder height adjuster assembly of the front seatbelts that might cause seat belt disassembly. The authorized Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Ertiga and XL6 built between the dates mentioned above to inspect their vehicles and replace the fault part at free of charge.

The updated Maruti Ertiga and XL6 MPVs are currently available within the price range of Rs 8.35 lakh – Rs 12.79 lakh and Rs 11.29 lakh – Rs 14.55 lakh respectively. Both models are powered by a 1.5L Dualjet petrol engine boosted with the mild hybrid technology. The setup delivers a claimed power of 103bhp and 136.8Nm of torque. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The latter one comes with paddleshifters. Maruti Suzuki claims that the updated Ertiga and XL6 return fuel efficiency of 20.51kmpl (MT)/20.30kmpl (AT) and 20.97kmpl (MT) and 20.27kmpl (AT) respectively.
