Maruti Grand Vitara – Nearly 88,000 Bookings, 55,505 Pending Orders

Maruti Suzuki rolled out the Grand Vitara mid-size SUV in September and its bookings were commenced in July 2022. The model has been doing really well in terms of sales for the Indo-Japanese automaker in the county. The carmaker has revealed that the Maruti Grand Vitara gathered a total of 87,953 bookings and its 55,505 orders are pending for deliveries. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., said that the company’s production target might fall short of 20 lakh units this fiscal year. The Maruti Grand Vitara SUV model lineup comes in 11 variants spread across Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims. While the mild hybrid manual variants are priced from Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 16.89 lakh, the mild hybrid automatic models cost between Rs 13.40 lakh – Rs 16.89 lakh. There are two strong hybrid variants – Zeta+ and Alpha+ – priced at Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

Buyers have monotone and dual-tone colour options to choose from. The range-topping Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims can be had in dual-tone shades at an additional cost of Rs 16,000. Powertrain options include a 103bhp, 1.5L K15C petrol with mild hybrid tech and 92bhp, 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol unit. The latter one has an electric motor that’s good enough for 79bhp and 141Nm. The combined power output of the strong hybrid setup stands at 115bhp. Maruti Suzuki says that the Grand Vitara mild hybrid versions deliver a fuel efficiency of 21.11kmpl (MT), 19.38kmapl (MT AWD), 20.58kmpl (AT) and the mild hybrid model offers 27.97kmpl.

Soon, the company will introduce the Maruti Grand Vitara CNG with the 1.5L K25C petrol engine and a factory-fitted CNG kit. It’s power and torque figures will be slightly lower than the regular mild hybrid powertrain, but it will be high on mileage.
