Over 8400 Tata Punch Sold In October; Nexon Tops

October 2021 was a good month for Tata Motors. The home-grown automaker managed to sell 33,926 units as opposed to 23,600 units of the same month last year, registering a growth of 43.8 percent. While the Tata Nexon was the top-selling model, the newly-launched Tata Punch further helped boost the sales figures. The company retailed 10,096 units of the Nexon subcompact SUV and 8,453 units of the Punch mini SUV.

Talking about the Tata Nexon, the SUV was the second best-selling vehicle in its segment. It beats Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Mahindra XUV300 with a big margin. The Hyundai Venue registered a total sales of 10,554 units, which is slightly higher (458 units) than the Nexon. The newly-launched Tata Punch mini SUV emerged as the second top-selling Tata vehicle. Prices of the mini SUV were announced on 18th October, which will be valid till 31st December 2021. Based on the Alfa platform, the Punch comes in four trims (Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative) and two engine and gearbox combinations. The micro SUV derives its power from a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 86bhp and 113Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT gearboxes are on offer.

The home-grown automaker sold 5,128 units of the Tata Altroz and 4,040 units of the Tiago in October 2021. Over 3,000 units of the Tata Harrier were sold last month, which is 29% higher than figures of the same month previous year. While the Tata Safari recorded total sales of 1735 units, the company sold 1,77 units of Tigor compact sedan. The next big launch from the home-grown automaker could be the Tata Altroz EV that broke cover at the 2020 Auto Expo.
