Over 7,000 Mahindra Scorpio Classic Sold in August 2022

Mahindra & Mahindra recorded a total sales of 59,049 units in August 2022, including 29,516 UVs (Utility Vehicles). Veejay Nakra, M&M President, Automotive Division, said that the company has been witnessing strong demand across its portfolio and the new models such as Scorpio N, Scorpio Classis and new Bolero MaXX Pick-up are among major sales contributors. The automaker is “taking appropriate actions to minimize impact” of the distrusted supply chain.   

While the Bolero remained the highest selling Mahindra SUV with sales of 8,246 units, the Scorpio Classic and XUV700 stood at number second and third respectively. The carmaker managed to sell 7,056 units of the Scorpio Classic and 6,010 units of the XUV700. One must note that deliveries of the new Mahindra Scorpio N will begin from this Dussehra and the first 25,000 units (mostly the range-topping Z8 L variant) will be handed over to customers by November.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic Launch Date

The Mahindra XUV700 currently has a waiting period of two years (Z6 and Z8 variants). The Z2 petrol and diesel variants are witnessing a waiting period of up to 22 months. It’s the N Z8L petrol and diesel models, which are observing the lowest waiting period of up to 20 months. The waiting period of the top-end AX7 L variant has been reduced to around 16 months from 19 months.

In mid August 2022, the home-grown automaker introduced the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic in two variants – S and S11. While the former has been priced at Rs 11.99 lakh, the latter costs Rs 15.49 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Major cosmetic and feature upgrades have been made to the SUV.

The model lineup is being offered in three seating configurations – 7-seater with captain seats in the second row and a bench in the third, 7-seater with bench in the middle row and two jump seats in the last row and 9-seater with a bench in the middle row and jump seats in the rear.
