Tata Harrier SUV model lineup has been further expanded with two new variants, namely, XMS and XMAS. Both new models are based on the XM and XMA variants respectively. The XMS manual version that sits above the XE and XM variants, comes at a starting price of Rs 17.20 lakh. The new Tata Harrier XMAS automatic, sitting above the XMA variant, costs from Rs 18.50 lakh. One must note that the aforementioned prices are introductory ex-showroom.
Compared to the XM and XMA, the new Tata Harrier XMS and XMAS variants are around Rs 1.11 more expensive. A panoramic sunroof comes as standard fitment. Earlier, it was available only on the XT+, XTA+, XZ+, XZA+, XZS and XZAS variants. The feature list also includes an 8-speaker audio system, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, electrically foldable ORVM, rain sensing wipers, a reverse parking camera and automatic headlamps.
What comes as a surprise is that the new Tata Harrier XMS and XMAS variants miss out on central locking system that’s offered on the XM and XMA models. No changes have been made under the hood, the new variants use the same 2.0L turbo diesel engine that makes a top power of 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. The XMS variant comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox only and the XMAS variant is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
