Maruti Suzuki had revealed the 5-door Jimny lifestyle SUV at Auto Expo 2023. At the time of unveiling, MSIL had also started accepting pre-orders for the Jimny and the Fronx crossover. Interested buyers can book the lifestyle SUV online or at authorised NEXA dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has received positive response from buyers, as it has already received more than 15,000 bookings in less than 3 weeks.
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be retailed through NEXA premium dealership network. While the exact launch date is yet to be revealed, the off-roader is likely to be launched sometime in May 2023. The SUV will be offered in two trim levels – Zeta nd Alpha – and in total of 4 variants. We expect the new model to cost somewhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 14 lakh.
Powering the lifestyle SUV is a 1.5-litre K15B 4-cylinder petrol engine with idle start/stop system for optimum fuel efficiency. This naturally-aspirated petrol engine is capable of producing 103bhp of power and 134.2Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic. It comes with Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a manual transfer case and a low-range gearbox with 2WD-high, 4WD-high and 4WD-low modes.
The Jimny is the only Maruti Suzuki product to be based on a rugged ladder-frame chassis. The SUV has an approach angle of 36°, a departure angle of 50°, and a break-over angle of 24°. In terms of proportions, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is 3985mm long, 1645mm wide and 1720mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2590mm. It has a ground clearance of 210mm, which is greater than the Force Gurkha. With rear seats in position, the SUV offers a boot space of 208-litres.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny’s top-end ALFA variant comes equipped with features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, Arkayms surround sound system, automatic headlamps, auto AC, cruise control, smart keyless entry with push-button engine start/stop, LED headlamps with DRLs, electrically foldable side mirrors and others.
