Over 1.21 Lakh New Hyundai Creta Sold In 12 Months

Launched in March 2020, the new-generation Hyundai Creta registered total sales of over 1.21 units so far. The carmaker has also revealed that it retailed over 5.8 lakh units of the SUV in the domestic market since its launch in 2015 and shipped 2.16 lakh units under its Make-in-India initiative. The 1.5L diesel variant accounts over 60% sales of the Creta’s total sales and over 51% and 20% sales come from higher trims (SX and SX (O)) and automatic variants respectively.

The new Hyundai Creta is available with 3 BS6-compliant engines – a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. The 1.5L gasoline motor makes power worth 115bhp and can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel unit is good enough for 115bhp and comes with the 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearbox options. The turbo-petrol engine is exclusively offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

In other updates, the South Korean carmaker is gearing up to launch the new Hyundai Alcazar 7-seater SUV based on the Creta. The model will make its public debut on 6th April and its launch will take place in May 2021. Its design and styling will be slightly different from the 5-seater Creta. The SUV might also come with some extra goodies such as ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), a 360 degree camera and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The Alcazar will be offered with 6 and 7-seats layouts and take on the new-generation Mahindra XUV500.
