OLA S1 Vs Simple One Electric – Price, Range, Top Speed Comparison

Two new electric scooters have been launched in the Indian market. While OLA electric has launched the new S1 e-scooter in two variants, Simple Energy has introduced the Simple One e-scooter. Both scooters are claimed to offer a range of over 150kms, and are priced aggressively in the market. In this article, we compare the price, range, specifications, top speed and the features of the Ola S1 and Simple One e-scooters.

OLA S1 Vs Simple One Price

– The Ola S1 electric scooter is available in two variants – S1 and S1 Pro. While the Ola S1 is priced at Rs 1 lakh, the S1 Pro costs Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

– With FAME II and Delhi Government subsidy, prices of the Ola e-scooter has been reduced significantly. The S1 and S1 Pro cost Rs 85,099 and Rs 1,10,149 respectively in Delhi.

– The Simple One electric scooter is available at a price of Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom), which makes it significantly cheaper than the S1 Pro. With FAME II and government subsidy, the price of the e-scooter will come down under Rs 1 lakh.

OLA S1 Vs Simple One Range, Top Speed

– The Ola S1 features a 2.98 kWh battery pack that powers a ‘Hyperdrive motor’, offering 11bhp of power and 58Nm of torque. This variant is claimed to achieve  a tpp speed of 90kmph, and 0-40kmph acceleration in 3.6 seconds. The S1 can achieve 0-60kmph in 7 seconds. It offers a maximum range of 121km. The battery can be charged up to 100% in 4 hours 48 minutes using a conventional charging port. Using Hypercharger, the scooter can achieve a range of 75km in just 18 minutes.

– The Ola S1 Pro is equipped with a 3.97 kWh battery pack. It is claimed to achieve 0-40kmph and 0-60kmph acceleration in 3 seconds and 5 seconds respectively. This variant will have a top speed of 115kmph. It is claimed to offer a maximum range of 181km. The battery can be charged to 100% in 6 hours 30 minutes.

– The S1 variant offers two riding modes – Normal and Sports, while the S1 Pro has 3 riding modes – Normal, Sports and Hyper.

– The Simple One has a 4.8kW battery pack that powers a 4.8kW motor. The battery is detachable and portable in nature, and will make it convenient to charge the e-scooter battery at homes.

– It is claimed to offer a range of 201km, and with good road conditions the range can go up to 236km. The scooter is claimed to achieve 0-40kmph acceleration in just 2.95 seconds.

– It will come with a Simple Loop Charger, which will charge the One electric scooter to offer a range of up to 2.5km in just 60 seconds. Simple Energy will also install more than 300 public fast chargers across the country in the next 3-4 months.

Ola S1 and Simple One Features

– The Simple One rides on 12-inch alloys and weighs 110kgs. It offers a large 30-litre boot space, which is 6-litre less than the Ola S1. For braking, the scooter gets 200mm front and a 190mm rear disc. In terms of features, the electric scooter gets a 7-inch instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. Rider can also access navigation, phone calls, music and even store documents. The Simple One e-scooter also has OTA updates, geo fencing, a tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle tracking and others.

– Ola S1 offers a boot space of 36-litres, which is good enough to accommodate two helmets. Based on tubular frame, the scooter gets single fork at the front and monoshock unit at the rear. For braking, it gets 220mm front disc and 180mm disc at the rear. The scooter has proximity lock/unlock as well as remote lock/unlock, Bluetooth connectivity for accessing calls and messages, onboard navigation, reverse mode and Take Me Home Light feature. The S1 Pro e-scooter gets hill hold control, cruise control and voice assist.
