Ola electric scooter has finally been launched in the country. The model lineup comes in Ola S1 and S1 Pro variants, which are priced at Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.29 lakh respectively. With FAME II and State Government subsidy, the prices of the S1 and S1 Pro e-scooter drops to 85,099 and 1,10,149 respectively in Delhi NCR. At this price point, the new Ola S1 electric scooter takes directly on the Bajaj e-Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather 450X and the newly-launched Simple One.
Customers who have reserved the scooter can purchase it from 8th September and its deliveries will begin in October, 2021. The company revealed that the e-scooter crossed the 1 lakh units booking milestone within the first 24 hours. Deliveries will be made to buyers’ home across India.

Powertrain system of the new Ola electric scooter includes 2.98kWh (S1) and 3.97kWh (S1 Pro) battery pack offering a range of 121km and 181kms respectively on a full charge. Both variants feature a ‘Hyperdrive motor’ generating a maximum power of 8.5kW. While the Ola S1delivers a top speed of 90kmph, the Ola S1 Pro accelerates 0 to 60kmph in 5 seconds and attains a maximum speed of 115kmph.
Both variants provide a maximum torque of 58Nm. The S1 comes with two riding modes – Normal and Sports, and the S1 Pro gets an additional Hyper mode. The new Ola electric scooter comes equipped with the single-sided suspension and disc brakes. It runs on 110/70 R12 MRF front and rear tyres.
The battery pack of the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters can be charged fully via a portable home charger in 4.48 hours and 6.30 hours respectively. The company will provide the home chargers with the scooter at the time of purchase. The company will also setup ‘Ola Hypercharger Network’ across the country. With the fast charger, it can be charged in 18 minutes to achieve a claimed 75km range.
Ola plans to establish 5,000 fast charging stations across 100 cities in the first phase. It will be gradually increased to 100,000 charging points across 400 cities. It will be the world’s largest electric vehicle charging network. Production of the new Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooter takes place at Ola’s Tamil Nadu-based manufacturing plant. The facility has an installed capacity of 10 million electric scooters on annual basis. Initially, however, the company will produce 2 million units per annum.
The new Ola electric scooter have been made available in 3 Pastel (Red, Blue and Yellow), 3 Metallic (Silver, Pink and Gloss) and 3 Matte (Blue, Black and Grey) colour options. While the S1 comes in five paint schemes, the S1 Pro is available in all 10 body colours. The new Ola electric scooter is claimed to offer an underseat storage space that’s big enough to store two helmets. The e-scooter comes equipped with a large TFT display, in-built speakers, a proximity lock/unlock system, smarphone connectivity, reverse mode, all-LED lighting, alloy wheels and telescopic suspension.
