Ola S1 – New Variant, 2 New Colours Coming in July 2023

Ola Electric has confirmed that it will roll out the S1 in two new vibrant color schemes – Lime Green and Electric Blue. Additionally, the company will expand the electric scooter model lineup with a new variant. Both updates will be introduced at the #endICEAge event in July 2023.

The new colors are expected to be offered on all three variants of the electric scooter – S1 Standard, S1 Pro, and S1 Air. Currently, it’s available in 11 paint schemes – Liquid Silver, Jet Black, Anthracite Grey, Matte Black, Coral Glam, Gerua, Porcelain White, Midnight Blue, Marshmallow, Neo Mint, and Millennial Pink.

Recently, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer started the construction work of its Gigafactory. The plant, which will be India’s biggest manufacturing facility, will boost the local production of electric vehicle batteries in the country. The company has confirmed that the factory will be operational from early next year. It will have a production capacity of 5GWh (in battery cells), and at its full potential, it will have a capacity of 100GWh. Last year, Ola Electric had announced an investment of $500 million (approx. Rs 4,000 crore) to establish its Battery Innovation Centre in Bengaluru.

What’s more? Well, Ola Electric aims to expand its sales network to 1,000 touchpoints in the coming months. In order to increase its EV penetration from 1-2% to 8-10%, the two-wheeler maker will set up its experience centers in Tier I and Tier II cities.

Furthermore, it aims to achieve monthly sales of up to 50,000 units. Ola has planned a range of new electric two-wheelers, including e-scooters and premium e-bikes. The electric bike lineup will have a cruiser, an adventure tourer, a sports bike, a road bike, and a mass-market bike.
