Ola Electric Car Design Patent Leaked – What to Expect?

India is one of the biggest automotive markets in the world with the fast-growing EV segment. Ola Electric, the leading the electric two-wheeler manufacturer, is selling around 30,000 units of e-scooters on monthly basis. In fact, the company is reported to file regulatory papers on the IPO (Initial Public Offer) for approval by August 2023. It plans to raise around $600 million – $1 billion in its initial IPO that’s slated for late 2023.

The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler brand will not limit its market to two-wheeler segment, but expand its business in the electric four-wheeler space in 2024. The company has already revealed its plan to launch its first electric car next year.

Recently, a patent design image of the new Ola electric car has emerged on the web. It previews the model in its concept avatar featuring futuristic headlamps, coupe-like roofline, ORVMs, and oversized and uniquely designed wheels.

OLA electric car partially revealed

Just so you know, Ola had released its first teaser in August 2022, revealing its aerodynamic silhouette. The teaser confirmed that the EV will sport a big vent on either side of the front bumper, an LED light bar at the front with an illuminated Ola logo and all-glass coupe-esque roofline. The rear section features a light bar as taillamp and an illuminated Ola logo.

The company had revealed that the first Ola electric car will offer a range of over 500km on a single charge. It will have a drag coefficient of 0.21Cd. The EV is claimed to do 0 to 100kmph in under 4 seconds. The model might use the brand’s in-house Lithium-ion battery and components. It’s likely to come with Ola’s in-house MoveOs software, connected car tech, keyless and handleless doors and assisted driving capabilities.

The Ola electric car price is likely to be below Rs 40 lakh. Once launched, the EV will go head-to-head against the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
