Nissan Magnite New Teaser Confirms Datsun-Like Face

After releasing multiple teasers, Nissan has now released a new teaser of the upcoming Magnite sub-4 meter SUV. The new teaser reveals the front grille of the Nissan Magnite, which is inspired by Datsun. For people not in the know, the new compact SUV was earlier planned to be launched under the Datsun nameplate. The new model will make global debut in pre-production concept form on July 16, 2020.

The teaser confirms that the upcoming Nissan Magnite sub-4 meter SUV gets octagonal front grille with mesh pattern and chrome treatment. The picture itself shows that the model will be concept form. It features a massive L-shaped LED lights on the bumper, which is likely to be revised in the production model. The SUV has sharp headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, which seems identical to the one available in the Nissan Kicks. The silver treatment and other detailings on the lower bumper are in concept form and not likely to come in mass production unit.

Previous teaser images shows that the Nissan Magnite compact SUV gets chunky wheels in concept form, and bold wheel arches with black plastic cladding all around the body for rugged profile. The compact SUV has upright position with flatter profile. Some of the design highlights include usable roof rails, roof-integrated spoiler, sloping roofline and wrap-around tail-lamps.

Previous media reports suggest that Nissan will equip the upcoming Magnite with high-end features such as 360 degree surround view camera, factory-fitted sunroof, Nissan Connect (Connected car technology), automatic AC and others.

Nissan Magnite Headlamp

It will be developed on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-A modular platform that also underpins the Renault Triber. The new model will be powered by a 1.0L petrol engine in naturally-aspirated and turbocharged versions. While the former is good for 71bhp and 96Nm, the turbo unit produces 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. It is rumoured to be priced as low as Rs 5.25 lakh.
