We informed you earlier that the much-awaited Nissan Magnite will be the most affordable SUV in its category. The model is scheduled to be launched in the next few days. In fact, Nissan has already released the variant-wise features and engine specifications of the sub-4 meter SUV.
Nissan Magnite Prices Leaked
We reported earlier that the Magnite will be the most affordable SUV in its category. Ahead of the launch, the prices of the new compact SUV have been leaked on the internet. Nissan had revealed the prices to their dealers via an online presentation.
1.0L XE – Rs 5.50 lakh
1.0L XL – Rs 6.25 lakh
1.0L XV – Rs 6.75 lakh
1.0L XV Premium – Rs 7.65 lakh
1.0L Turbo XL – Rs 7.25 lakh
1.0L Turbo XV – Rs 7.75 lakh
1.0L Turbo XV Premium – Rs 8.65 lakh
1.0L Turbo XL CVT – Rs 8.15 lakh
Going by the prices, it is clear that the new Magnite will be the most affordable in its category. While the NA versions are priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 7.65 lakh, the turbocharged engine equipped Magnite costs between Rs 7.25 lakh and Rs 8.65 lakh. The CVT automatic gearbox option is offered on the single XL variant, which is priced at Rs 8.15 lakh.
The aggressive pricing strategy is most likely to help Nissan post positive sales. If this prices are correct, the Magnite will be Rs 1.2 lakh cheaper than the next most affordable SUV in its segment – Kia Sonet (6.71 lakh – Rs 11.65 lakh). In fact, the new compact SUV is cheaper than most of the premium hatchbacks – the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza and the Honda Jazz.
Engine Specs
The new Nissan Magnite is available with 2 engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the naturally-aspirated engine offers 71bhp at 6,250rpm and 96Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. The turbocharged engine offers two states of tunes – 99bhp/160Nm with 5-speed manual gearbox and 99bhp/152Nm with CVT automatic.
