Tata Altroz Line-up Updated With New XM+ Variant

Tata Motors has launched the new XM+ variant of the Altroz premium hatchback. The new Altroz XM+ is priced at Rs 6.60 lakh, which makes it 30,000 premium over the XM variant (Rs 6.30 lakh). The new variant is launched to counter the newly launched new Hyundai i20 and to grab more market share during festive season, Diwali.

The new Tata Altroz XM+ gets all the features that are accessible in the regular XM variant. This variant gets a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Adding to it, the new variant gets multi-functional steering wheel, voice alert, voice recognition, remote foldable key and new 16-inch wheels. The XM variant gets 14-inch wheels.

The Altroz XM+ is offered in 4 colour options – High Street Gold, Downtown Red, Avenue White and Midtown Grey. The hatchback gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert, seat belt reminders, power windows, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, adjustable front headrests and manual AC.

The Altroz is based on the new ALPHA modular platform and features the brand’s new IMPACT DESIGN 2.0 design philosophy. It is the only car in its segment to receive 5-star crash test rating from Global NCAP. Powering the Altroz XM+ is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 86PS and 113Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheel via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Tata Altroz is also available with a diesel engine, which is a 1.5L unit producing 89bhp and 200Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed MT. The company will soon introduce the turbocharged version of the hatchback, which will receive a 1.2L turbo petrol engine producing 108bhp and 144Nm of torque. This model will be positioned against the newly launched Hyundai i20 1.0L Turbo and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
