2021 Jeep Compass Facelift First Pictures Leaked – What Has Changed?

The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift comes with significant design changes, upgraded cabin and a new 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine.

The much-awaited 2021 Jeep Compass facelift has been fully revealed in a new set of leaked images. The new model is scheduled to be unveiled at the Guangzhou Salon in China, which will happen on November 22, 2020.

Design Changes

– The overall profile of the Compass facelift remains identical to the outgoing model; however, it comes with significant design changes. The mid-sized premium SUV comes fitted with a revised 7-slat grille with more prominenbt honeycomb-like inserts; however, the size of the grille remains the same.

– The headlamp design has also been revised, as it now features more angular profile. The top-spec model will have full-LED headlamps with re-designed headlamp inserts.

– The SUV comes fitted with all-new front bumper with dual-tone scheme. There is a new contrasting-black insert placed above the air-dam, which connects the new fog lamp enclosures. The LED daytime running lights are now integrated into the headlights.

– At the back, the SUV gets subtle changes to keep things fresh. It gets mildly revised tail-lamps with new inserts. Thanks to the new bumpers, the new model is expected to grow in size.

– The Compass Trailhawk will also receive significant design changes, which gives it a more rugged profile. This rugged version has differently styled front bumper.

– The 2021 Jeep Compass Trailhawk now features all-black grille and dual-tone hood along with signature red hooks. This rugged model also gets newly-styled alloy wheels.

Compass Facelift Interior Changes

– Inside the cabin, the new model is likely to receive significant changes in the form of newly-styled dashboard.

– The central console will be dominated by a new tablet-styled 10-inch vertically-stacked infotainment system. It is also expected to receive all-new digital instrument console and 360 degree camera.

– If reports are to be believed, the Compass facelift will receive better quality plastic and top notch fit & finish.

-It is expected that the updated Compass could adopt the latest L2 autonomy, which will allow the SUV to feature advanced driver assistance features. These features will include highway assist, traffic jam assists, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert and active blind-spot assist.

Longer and Taller

– The report claims that the new Compass will measure 4,424mm in length, 1,819mm in width and 1,652mm in height, making it 9mm longer and 17mm taller than the outgoing model. The height of the automatic 4WD high-performance version is expected to be increased by 25mm. The wheelbase remains the same at 2,636mm.

– The Compass facelift will be powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine that is likely to produce around 180bhp and 285Nm of torque. The engine will be coupled to a CVT-type automatic gearbox.

– The diesel engine will also be upgraded for higher efficiency. The India-spec model is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 173bhp and 350Nm of torque.

– It is expected that Jeep will showcase the hybrid 4XE Compass at the Chinese event. The 4XE hybrid variant will be powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine with electric motor. It is capable of producing up to 240bhp and offers efficiency up to 47.6kmpl. The SUV can run up to 50km on electric mode.
