Next-Gen Toyota C-HR Debut In Q2, 2023 – New Details Emerge

Japanese automaker, Toyota is preparing the next-gen C-HR crossover that is likely to be introduced sometime in 2023. If reports are to be believed, the next-gen Toyota C-HR will make global debut in the second quarter of 2023 (between April-June 2023). However, Toyota is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

The Toyota C-HR has been one of the best-selling compact SUVs for the past 5-6 years. The second-generation model is expected to come with more stylish than the current model. The next-gen model will be the production version of the bZ compact SUV, which was released in December last year. It is likely to come with the same 2L hybrid powertrain that is offered on the new Prius.

Toyota bZ4X Concept design

The new model is expected to grow in size and will offer more space inside the cabin. It is likely to measure around 4300mm in length, 1800mm in width and 1570mm in height. Toyota is yet to start testing the new-gen C-HR prototype. The new model will be positioned above the Yaris Cross and will sell alongside the Corolla Cross.

The next-gen Toyota C-HR is most likely to look similar to the bZ4X electric SUV. In fact, the new Aygo X also shares the same design language. Similar to these models, the new C-HR is likely to come with thick black elements on the rear quarter panels and the thick part of the grille. The lighting system and the roof design are also likely to be shared with the compact electric SUV.

We reported earlier that Toyota is developing a new Europe-focused ‘E3’ platform, which will have a combination of ‘GA-C’ global compact platform and its electric ‘e-TNGA’ architecture. The new platform will be compatible with multiple engine options including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric. The next-gen Toyota C-HR is reportedly to be based on the new E3 platform. The company is also developing a mysterious mini SUV, which is expected to be called the Toyota BZ2X. Toyota hasn’t released any information on the mysterious SUV; however, the announcement on the new model is just around the corner.
