The next coming months will certainly be super exciting for auto enthusiasts as several new car launches have been planned across different segments. India’s largest passenger automaker, Maruti Suzuki has already rolled out multiple updated and new models and it’s ready to bring many more. The home-grown, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra have also planned some big launches for customers. Here’re key details of the next big SUV launches from these three automakers.
New-Gen Maruti Brezza
The second-generation Maruti Brezza is ready to hit showrooms in April 2022. The subcompact SUV is reported to be offered with several segment-first features including a 360 degree camera along with the factory-fitted electric sunroof and paddle shifters. Its touchscreen infotainment system will be bigger than before and it’s likely to come with the wireless smartphone connectivity. With 6 airbags and ESP (electronic stability program), the 2022 Maruti Brezza will be safer than its current generation. If reports are to be believed, the existing mild hybrid system and 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox will be replaced with the stronger hybrid tec and a new 6-speed automatic transmission respectively. The SUV will continue to use the sae 1.5L K15B petrol engine. Significant cosmetic changes will be made to its exterior as well.
Updated Tata Nexon EV
The 2022 Tata Nexon EV facelift will witness a market release in coming months. The updated model will come with the larger 40kWh battery pack offering a range of over 400km in a full charge. Currently, the Nexon EV is available with a 30.2kWh battery pack delivering an ARAI-certified range of 312km. A few changes are likely to be made to its floor pan to accommodate the bigger battery pack. This time around, the electric SUV might also be offered with the electronic stability program (ESP). On the exterior, the new Nexon EV is expected to receive newly-designed, dual-tone 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Compared to the current generation, the new one will surely be slightly more expensive. It’s estimated to cost around Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh higher.
New-Gen Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra’s highly popular Scorpio SUV is ready to enter into its second generation in coming months. The new model is likely to debut in June, followed by its market launch. Comprehensive changes will be made to its exterior and interior. The SUV will also come with the new engine setup. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will come with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines making power worth 130bhp/160bhp and 155bhp respectively. It will be offered with the 6-speed manual and torque convertor automatic gearbox options. The range-topping variants will be exclusively offered with 4X4 drivetrain system, drive modes and terrain modes. Compared to the existing model, the new-generation Scorpio will be bigger and have more premium features on-board.
