Next Big Launch From Royal Enfield Is Hunter 350?

Royal Enfield is working on range of new models including a scrambler, a 350cc motorcycle, Himalayan based road-focus bike and a 650cc cruiser motorcycle. The company has already trademarked multiple nameplates for its upcoming models. If reports are to be believed, the next big launch from Royal Enfield could be a new 350cc motorcycle that might be named Hunter 350. The model has already been caught on camera several times revealing some interesting details.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will be based on the brand’s new ‘J’ platform that underpins the new-generation Classic 350 and Meteor 350. The new architecture is claimed to be designed for straight-line stability and cornering without compromising on comfort. It has a new double-cradle frame making it stronger and stiffer. The spy images reveal that the new RE 350cc bike will look different from the Meteor 350 featuring a teardrop shaped fuel tank, shorter front and rear fenders, a single-piece seat with a pillion backrest and a circular taillamp.

The round headlamp with chrome bezel and short front mudguard will give it a retro look. The bike will also get flatter handlebar, fork gaiters, an upswept exhaust, engine sump guard and centre set footpegs (instead of forward-set units like Meteor). Some of its features will be borrowed from the RE Meteor 350 including a semi-digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer. While the spied test mule was missed out on the tripper navigation, the production model might come with it.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is likely to come with the Meteor’s 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an OHC (overhead camshaft) configuration. The motor delivers a claimed power of 20.2bhp at 6,100rpm and a maximum torque of 27Nm at 4,000rpm. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed gearbox. The new RE 350cc bike could be equipped with the 370mm front and 270mm rear disc brakes along with the standard dual-channel ABS system. Its suspension system might include telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
