After the new-generation Royal Enfield Classic 350, what will be the next big launch from the Chennai-based bikemaker? Well, we don’t know yet. What we know is that the Chennai based bikemaker is working on a range of new motorcycles including Classic 650, a new scrambler motorcycle and a 650cc cruiser. Reports suggest that the new Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser bike will share its platform and engine with the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.
The company trademarked multiple nameplates for its upcoming models and the upcoming cruiser could be introduced as Royal Enfield Shotgun. Here’s a latest digital rendering that previews a possible design of the upcoming RE 650cc cruiser motorcycle.
The rendered model features a teardrop shaped fuel tank, more upright riding position and a low slung tail section. It has a newly-designed seat, black alloy wheels, chromed exhaust pipe and black engine panel. Some of its design bits will be inspired by the RE KX Bobber design concept that broke cover in 2018 at EICMA.

The previous spy images reveal that the Royal Enfield Shotgun will come with the USD front forks and disc brakes, which will further assisted by dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The cruiser will have lower ground clearance and a long wheelbase. There will be backrest for the pillion rider, but might come as an accessory. Similar to RE’s new breed motorcycles, the upcoming Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser bike will be equipped with Tripper navigation system and a digital instrument console.
Powering the Royal Enfield Shotgun is likely to be the same 648cc twin-cylinder engine that does duty in the RE Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Though, the motor could be tweaked to suit needs of a cruiser motorcycle. At present, the engine returns a claimed power of 47bhp and 57Nm of torque. Transmission duties are likely to be performed by a 6-speed unit.
