Upcoming Royal Enfield Scram 411 – What We Know So Far

Royal Enfield is working on a new model based on the Himalayan adventure motorcycle. It’s likely to be more affordable and road-focused than its donor sibling. If reports are to be believed, the bikemaker might use the Royal Enfield Scram 411 nameplate for the upcoming new bike. The latest set of spy images reveal the close to production model featuring a single-pod instrument cluster that seems to be borrowed from the Meteor 350. The unit is likely to feature Tripper navigation. Read – Royal Enfield Electric Bikes Not Coming Anytime Soon

Unlike the RE Himalayan that offers split seat, the test mule of the new Royal Enfield bike has a single-piece unit. In fact, it misses out on the front windscreen and jerry can holders. The front indicators are new and slightly repositioned. While one of the testing models carries a brushed metal finish on the headlamp, the other one gets blacked-out headlight bezel. The front wheel appears slightly smaller (possibly 19-inch) than the Himalayan that has 21-inch unit.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 features

The new Royal Enfield Scram 411 is likely to share its platform and engine with the Himalayan. Though, the bikemaker might improve the refinement levels of the motor. The Himalayan comes with the BS6-ready 411cc, single-cylinder engine that’s good enough for 24.3bhp and 32Nm.

The RE Scram 411 could also borrow the suspension and braking system from its adventure sibling. The latter one has been equipped with the front and rear disc brakes, which are further assisted by dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). Suspension duties are done by telescopic front forks and pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear.

Royal Enfield Scram specs

The RE Himalayan comes in 6 colour options, namely, Gravel Grey, Mirage Silver, Lake Blue, Rock Red, Granite Black and Pine Green. Its prices start from Rs 2.10 lakh and go up to Rs 2.17 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The upcoming Royal Enfield Scram 411 is expected to cost below Rs 2 lakh.
