New Citroen C3 Photos & Key Details; Launch Timeline

Citroen has officially unveiled the much-awaited new Citroen C3 compact SUV, which will be launched in India as well as in South America. The new C3 is the first model from the “C Cubed” programme, which was launched in 2019. The company will introduce 3 vehicles as a part of C-Cubed programme by 2024.

– Citroen has officially announced that the new C3 sub-compact car will be launched in India and in South America in the first half of 2022. It is likely to arrive in our market in Q1, 2022.

Citroen C3 Front Design

– Citroen claims to have achieved over 90 percent localisation levels with the new C3 compact SUV. It is based on the company’s heavily localised CMP (Common Modular Platform) architecture that has been specially developed for emerging markets.

– The company claims that “the new C3, which will be produced in Chennai, will be aimed at new married consumers in their thirties, from the emerging middle class, with a comfortable income, who will be attentive to the value offered by a product that represents a significant outgoing and which needs to be robust and practical to maintain.”

– The new C3 measures under 4 meters in length, preciously at 3.98 meters. It shares styling cues from the bigger Citroen’s including the C4 and the C5 X. The Citroen C3 features a dual-stage light signature, with the double V-shaped lines that become chrome bars and continue across the width of the vehicle to the headlights and then separate to form a Y at the ends.

– The LED DRLs, turn indicators and position lights are placed on the upper side, while the main headlight is placed on the lower side. The rear light signature is also fairly prominent and echoes the two horizontal lines visible on the front end which form a triangle.

– The SUV features a high bonnet, protective plates at the front and rear, and protective bubble panels, fender flared and black plastic cladding. It comes with a ground clearance of 180mm, which is more than sufficient to tackle Indian road conditions.

– Citroen claims that the approach angle and departure angle have been studied and the bodywork adjusted to prevent it touching the ground in the event of a steep slope, road surface or obstacle in the road.

Citroen C3 Interior Revealed

– The new C3 compact SUV offers 315-litres of boot space, and the segment-leading 1 litre of glove box. The new Citroen C3 is claimed to have a small footprint, and offers a small turning radius of 10 metres. However, it is claimed to offer segment-leading interior space along with several cubby holes to carry things.

– The new Citroen C3 has adopted two-tone bodywork. The company will offer eleven customisation variants including single-tone and two-tone.

– In India, the vehicle will be offered in four body colours – Ice White, Platinium Grey, Artense Grey and Zesty Orange. Adding to it, the company will offer two roof colours in India – Artense Grey or Zesty Orange.

– Citroen will also offer close to 78 customisation options with the new C3. This could include chrome parts for a chic dimension, decorative elements to add individual character to the vehicle, a choice of up to eight seat covers, functional equipment for the passenger compartment sound system and connection of a smartphone, as well as protective features.

– The Citroen C3 has a wheelbase of 2.54 meters, as it is claimed to offer segment-largest leg room in the second row in its category.

– Besides 315-litres boot & 1-litre glovebox, the Citroen C3 has two 2-litre door pockets at the front that can accommodate a 1-litre bottle along with other objects, two 1-litre door pockets at the rear, two cup holders and a storage compartment in the central console, as well as two cup holders in the rear which can become smartphone holders.

– It features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with multiple apps & multimedia content, and voice commands. – The new model is likely to be offered with two engine options – a 81bhp, 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol and a 100bhp, 1.2L turbocharged petrol.
