Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of the new Baleno hatchback by the end of February 2022. The new Baleno will receive significant design changes, all-new cabin and several new features. A new media report claims that Toyota will also introduce the new Glanza hatchback in the country in March 2022.
The current Glanza hatchback looks largely identical to the outgoing Baleno. The same trend will continue with the new Toyota Glanza, which will share most of the changes with the new Baleno. The Glanza hatchback will come with design changes in-line with the updated Baleno. It will have a wider nose with a larger grille and revised headlamps.
The biggest change will be made inside the cabin. The new Toyota Glanza hatchback will come with all-new interior. It will have a newly designed dashboard with a larger free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moreover, the hatchback will also get a wireless charging system, six airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), Heads Up Display or HUD and others.
The new Glanza will be manufactured by Maruti Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki will also improve the steel quality used in the Baleno hatchback. The outer body panels and chassis will have thicker grade of steel. The same will expect from the new Toyota Glanza as well. We expect that the new Glanza could receive more changes to differentiate it from the regular Baleno.
The new Toyota Glanza hatchback will retain the existing engine options – a a 83bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and a 90bhp, 1.2L dualjet with 12V mild hybrid system. The Baleno is reportely to get a Swift-like single clutch automatic or AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). It will be interesting to see the same engine-gearbox combination will come with the new Glanza. We expect the new Glanza to retain the CVT gearbox.
