Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently rolled out the all-new Innova Hycross within the price range of Rs 18.30 lakh – Rs 28.97 lakh (all, ex-showroom). If reports are to be believed, the next big launch from the Japanese automaker will be the updated Innova Crysta that will come with minor cosmetic and feature upgrades. It will be followed by a new Coupe SUV that will essentially be the re-badged version of the upcoming Maruti YTB (codename). Maruti Suzuki’s version of the Coupe SUV will make its debut at the Delhi Auto Expo and go on sale by April 2023.
The new Toyota Coupe SUV will underpin Suzuki’s lightweight Heartech platform and could be offered with the 1.0L Boosterjet turbo petrol engine. The motor will be boosted with the mild hybrid technology. It’s the same gasoline unit that did duty in the Baleno RS, but now it will comply with the BS6 emission standards. Its power and torque outputs will be around 100bhp and 150Nm respectively. The Coupe SUV could also be offered with the 1.2L Dualjet or 1.5L Dualjet petrol engine options. Buyers will get both manual and automatic gearboxes.
While Maruti Suzuki’s version of the SUV will have Grand Vitara-inspired front fascia, the new Toyota Coupe SUV will share some of its design bits with the Hyryder and Glanza. It might have a more angular roof-mounted spoiler, a raked window line with a shorter rear quarter glass and a longer boot lid than the Maruti YTB. The model could be assembled with the differently designed alloy wheels.
With respect to features, the new Toyota Coupe SUV is likely to offer a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice commands, Head-Up Display (HUD), a 360 degree camera, an automatic AC unit, an electric sunroof and more.
