Initially, the new Duster will be made available with petrol engines only. The carmaker might consider its hybrid and electric iteration, if there will be demand. The company is reported to say that it will focus on customers’ requirements and preferences and target “domestic and export markets for sustainable growth”.

The new Renault Duster will be designed on the CMF-B platform and share its design elements with the Dacia Bigster SUV concept such as LED lighting, pronounced fenders, integrated aluminum-style skid plates and multiple body panels. It will feature a narrow front grille, horizontal LED headlamps, angular front bumper, squarish wheel arches with bold side cladding, door pillars integrated rear door handles, a twin pod-style spoiler and Y-shaped taillamps. The new model will be bigger than the previous one.

In terms of price and positioning, the new Duster 5-seater will challenge the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos and Toyota Hyryder. Its three-row version will compete against the Hyundai Alcazar and Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming 7-seater SUV.
