MG Motor India had launched the new MG ZS EV on March 7, 2022. The company has claimed that the new model has received overwhelming response from buyers, receiving over 1500 pre-bookings just within March, 2022.
The electric SUV is currently offered in a single fully-loaded Exclusive variant, which is priced at Rs 25.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The company will launch the new entry-level Excite variant by July 2022. This entry-level variant will cost Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 2022 MG ZS EV is equipped with a 50.3kWH battery pack, which replaces the old 44.7kWh battery unit. The new bigger battery delivers power worth 143bhp and 353Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in just 8.5 seconds. The new ZS Electric is claimed to offer a range of 461km in a single charge. The pre-facelift version was claimed to deliver 419km on a full charge. It continues to come with the FWD system, a single-speed automatic gearbox and multiple drive modes.
In terms of styling, the new ZS Electric will get slimmer LED headlamps, new LED DRLs, new alloys, new front fascia with closed grille and LED tail-lights. It is available in colour options – Black and Grey along with the regular Red and White paint schemes.
The cabin of the 2022 MG ZS EV shares resemblance with the new Astor mid-sized SUV. It gets a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new 7-inch digital instrument console, and a 360 degree camera. Other features include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, hill descent control, 6 airbags, Lane Change Assist, blind spot detection, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, etc.
