The new 2022 MG ZS EV facelift has finally been launched in the country. Initially, the electric SUV has been offered in a single, fully-loaded Exclusive variant priced at 25.88 Rs lakh (ex-showroom). Its entry-level Excite variant that costs Rs 21.99 lakh, will go on sale in July 2022. The updated model comes with improved design, more features and long-range battery pack.

Its powertrain system includes a 50.3kWh battery pack (replacing the old 44.7kWh battery unit) delivering power worth 143bhp and 353Nm of torque. The SUV’s new model is claimed to do 0 to 100kmph in 8.5 seconds. What’s more interesting is the new MG ZS EV offers a claimed range of 461 km in a single charge. Its previous iteration was claimed to deliver 419km on a full charge. The new model continues to come with the FWD system, a single-speed automatic gearbox and multiple drive modes.
On the exterior, the new 2022 MG ZS EV facelift gets slimmer LED headlamps, new LED DRLs, roof rails, newly-designed alloy wheels and LED taillamps similar to the Astor. With the mid-life update, the automaker has removed the signature Blue colour schemes from the electric SUV model lineup. Inside, the new ZS EV features a new faux carbon fibre trim around the dashboard and updated climate control buttons borrowed from the Astor. One of the biggest updates come in the form of a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 360 degree camera and rear parking sensors.
The electric SUV has been equipped with a new EcoTree Challenge feature on the MG i-Smart EV 2.0 connected car system. It offers over 75 connected car features and an advanced VR system with over 100 commands (including over 35 Hinglish commands) for different functionalities. The list of features also includes leather wrapped steering wheel with red stitching, rear centre armrest with storage, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, cruise control, PM 2.5 filter, 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, electronic brake assist, blind spot detection, electric parking brake and more.
