Honda City Hybrid – Mileage, Specs, Feature Details (Expected)

Honda Cars India has confirmed that it will unveil the City Hybrid sedan on April 14, 2022. The model, which had its world premium in mid 2020, was originally scheduled for India launch in 2021. Though, it was delayed due to pandemic and the global supply constraints. Here’re key details of the upcoming Honda City Hybrid sedan that we know so far.

Honda City Hybrid Specs

Powertrain setup of the new City Hybrid has Honda’s i-MMD hybrid technology that includes a 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Atkinson Cycle petrol engine and two electric motors. The gasoline motor pushes out a peak power of 98bhp and 127Nm of torque.

New City Hybrid India

The electric motor that works as an integrated starter generator (ISG) delivers a claimed power of 109bhp and 253Nm of torque. It transmits power to the front wheels via a single, fixed-gear ratio. The sedan’s hybrid setting is likely to come with three drive modes – running only on internal combustion engine, running only on electric motors and a combination of both. Honda City Hybrid Mileage

The new City Hybrid sedan is likely to deliver a fuel economy of over 27kmpl. One must note that its Thai-spec and Malaysia-spec models promise 27.8kmpl and 27.7kmpl respectively. These are NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) certified figures. In real world conditions, it will be around 20kmpl.

Honda has already been selling the City with hybrid powertrain in select global markets. It’s Malaysia-spec version shares design elements with the global-spec City RS. The automaker is likely to give the same treatment to the model that’s coming to India. The sedan carries sportier front and rear bumpers and black accents on the front grille, bumpers and ORVMs.

Interior has all-black theme. The company has already revealed that the City Hybrid will come with Honda Sensing technology that includes several active safety features such as emergency braking, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, auto high beam assist and front collision warning system.
