MG Motors is all set to unveil the new MG electric hatchback at the 2022 Beijing Auto Show, which is scheduled to be held in April. The production version of the electric hatchback will be unveiled before the end of 2022, while launch is expected in 2023.
In fact, camouflaged images of the MG electric hatchback prototype has already been revealed on Chinese social media channel. If reports are to be believed, MG will showcase the concept version of the electric car at the Beijing Motor Show in April.
The MG electric hatchback front bumper seems identical to the recently introduced Cyberster roadster concept. The vehicle gets a prominent shoulder line, similar to the one seen on the ZS EV. The vehicle will be positioned below the ZS EV and will use an in depended rear suspension.
According to the Chinese media, the new MG electric hatchback could replace the second generation MG 3. The MG 3 hatchback is currently produced at MG’s Nanjing plant in China since 20211. It is offered in both electric as well as internal combustion engines.
MG EV Plans For India
MG Motor is currently selling the ZS EV in our market. The company will soon introduce the facelifted version of the SUV, which has been spotted testing multiple times. The new ZS EV will come with a larger battery and Astor-inspired interior.
Adding to it, MG Motor India has already announced to launch an electric crossover before the end of 2022-23 financial year. The new model will be based on the global platform, which will be customised for the Indian market. The new electric crossover will be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.
