The much-awaited new Maruti Baleno will be launched in the country on February 23, 2022. The company has already released multiple teasers that shows the tech features on offer. Ahead of the launch, exterior images of the hatchback have been leaked on the Internet.
The new Maruti Baleno comes with significantly updated front fascia. It comes with a wider front grille with an angular honeycomb pattern. There is a new brushed silver strip at the base of the grille that extends all the way into the new headlamps. The headlights comes with a new three-element LED DRL signature. While the top-end model gets projector headlamps, the lower variant gets halogen bulbs.
The new Maruti Baleno comes with a flatter clamshell bonnet and revised front bumper that has larger fog lamp housings. The side profile looks identical to the previous model, except for the chrome strip that now runs across the lower window line to the rear quarter glass. At the back, the new Baleno comes with new tailgate design, new C-shaped LED tail-lights and reprofiled rear bumper.
The report claims that the new Maruti Baleno will come in six exterior colour options – Pearl Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Celestial Blue, Opulent Red and Luxe Beige.

The new model will be offered in the single 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine with idle-engine start/stop system. This engine is capable of producing 89bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will come as standard. A 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) will be offered on all the trims, except for the abse variant. The new Maruti Baleno manual will return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 22.35kmpl, while the AMT variant will offer 22.94kmpl.
