We reported that Jeep’s upcoming 7-seater SUV will be called the new Jeep Patriot, as the name has been trademarked in India. Called Project 598, the 7-seater SUV will be positioned against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. The new Jeep 7-seater SUV is expected to be launched in the end of 2021 or early 2022.
A new set of spy images of the 7-seater Jeep Patriot reveals the body panels and the design details. Adding to it, the interior details of the 7-seater SUV for the Brazilian market have also been revealed in latest images. The dashboard of the new Jeep SUV is identical to that of the new Compass facelift. It gets a fully digital instrument console and a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
There will be new colour schemes for the instrument console and the touchscreen unit. It gets a floating type touchscreen unit, which will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with connected car technology. It gets all-new steering wheel and new brand logo. Silver accents can be seen on the dashboard, which will add premium touch to it.
The new 7-seater Jeep SUV will have an exclusive front design inspired by the Grand Cherokee L, which was presented in january 2021. The front fenders and bonnet looks identical to the Compass 2022; however, the bumper design is similar to the Cherokee. It features the honeycomb shaped 7-slot grille, which also resembles the big brother. The SUV also gets revised headlamp structure. The lower bumper has mesh air-intakes with small rectangles with rounded corners.
The new 7-seater Jeep SUV will have a larger wheelbase to add extra seats. The major changes will be made to the rear three quarter, and the gain in length will be increased from the “B” column. The height of the SUV will be significantly higher compared to Compass. At the back, the Jeep Patriot will have flatter design instead of the rounded profile in the Compass; however, it gets the same tail-lamp structure as the 5-seater sibling. The rear window is also larger to give airy feel. The “C” column will come with a larger glass area.
The new Jeep Patriot is expected to be offered in a single diesel engine option. It will receive a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with power output close to 203bhp and around 400Nm of torque. This engine will be paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and the 4×4 traction system.
