Kia Sonet In Saudi Arabia Sits Above 4 Meters; Gets 1.5L Petrol Engine

Launched in 2020, the Kia Sonet has been one of the best-selling SUVs in the Indian market. The company has also launched this SUV in select international markets including Saudi Arabia. While the India-spec model sits below 4 meters in length, the international-spec model measures 4,120mm in length.

Compared to the India-spec model, the international-spec Sonet is 125mm longer; however, width and height of the car remains the same. The SUV measures 1,790mm in width and 1,642mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm. The increase in length is due to the addition of a more chunkier bumpers.

The biggest change between the India-spec Sonet and the international-spec Kia Sonet are the engine options. The Sonet in our market is available with 3 engine options – a 118bhp, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a 82bhp, 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 113bhp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. Transmission options include a 5MT, 6M, 6-speed iMT, 7DCT and 6AT.

On the other hand, the Sonet for the Arabian markets get a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Kia Seltos. The 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine is capable of producing 113bhp of power and 144Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

The SUV is offered in 8 exterior colors – Intensed Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Beige Gold, Glacier White Pearl, Iron Grey, Intelligency Blue, Gravity Gray and Clear White. In terms of features, the SUV gets LED headlamps with DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED tail-lamps, sunroof, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED sound mood lights, cruise control, front and rear parking sensor, vehicle stability management, brake assist system, tire pressure monitoring system, engine start-stop button, connected car tech, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), rear view camera, hill start assist control, etc.
