Hyundai has released new design sketches of its soon-to-be-launched – all-new Hyundai Verna. Scheduled to make global debut in India on March 21, 2023, the new Hyundai Verna can be booked online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The new Hyundai Verna is developed on the lines of brand’s global design philosophy of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. The new model design is heavily inspired from Hyundai’s global sedans including the new-gen Elantra and the Grandeur. It features an aggressive front fascia with a double layer headlamp set-up, which is similar to the one offered on the latest-gen Grandeur sedan.
The new Hyundai Verna comes with a new parametric-jewel-pattern grille with turn signal integration wide. The cascading-shape grille has an integrated full LED headlamp, while the LED lighting is placed over thr grille that runs across the width. The sedan has sculpted bonnet with sharp lines and creases.
The new-gen Verna has a fastback-like styling with a tapered roof. There are strong lines running across the length of the sedan. It rides on multi-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the back, the new Verna has high-tech “H-Tail Lamp” that creates flying H logo-like shape, a wing-type lower bumper treatment and a tapered roofline to enhance the coupe-like look.
Hyundai hasn’t released images of the interior of the new Verna; however, the spy images reveal that it will have a dual screen display – one for infotainment & one for instrument cluster. The sedan will come in 7 single tone and two dual-tone exterior paint options. Hyundai has introduced 3 new colours – Abyss Black, Atlas White and Tellurian Brown. The big update comes in the form of introduction of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). It will offer features like automatic emergency braking, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, lane keep assist and more.
The new-gen Hyundai Verna will be offered with two petrol engine options – a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a new 1.5-litre Turbo GDi petrol. While the former is good for 115PS and 144Nm of torque, the turbo engine produces 160PS and 250Nm of torque. Both engines will be compliant with the upcoming RDE (Real Driving Emission) norms. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual as standard, an IVT with NA petrol & a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with turbo petrol.
