All-New Renault Duster SUV – What We Know So Far

Renault-Nissan recently confirmed a new investment of Rs 5,300 for its upcoming 6 new models including the all-new Duster (5 and 7-seater), a Triber-based MPV and 2 EVs. In India, the carmaker will spike the second-generation Renault Duster and bring in its third-gen model to challenge the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. Here’re some key details that we know so far about the all-new Renault Duster.

New CMF-B Platform

The 2024 Renault Duster will underpin a new CMF-B modular platform that’s will also be used for the company’s future products. The vehicles designed on this architecture will share floor, axle design, cabin structure and mechanical arrangement. It allows the carmaker interchange components between vehicles and make them adaptable for different markets and customers’ requirements. With this new modular platform, the SUV will meet the global emission and safety standards.

2 Seating Layouts

If reports are to be believed, the new Duster will be offered with two seating configurations – 5 and 7-seats. While its 5-seater version will take on the Creta and Grand Vitara, the 7-seater model will take on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki’s 7-seater SUV.

Hybrid Powertrains

Official specifications of the all-new Renault Duster are still under the wraps. Though, it’s reported to come with the electric and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. When discontinued in early 2022, the SUV was offered with the 156bhp, 1.3L turbo petrol engine.

Bigger, New Design

Compared to the previous generation, the new one will be bigger in size. The new Duster will derive some of its design elements from the Dacia Bigster concept. The SUV might share its multiple body panels such as pronounced fenders, LED lighting, integrated aluminium-style skid plates with its cousin.

India Launch Timeline

The all-new Renault Duster will go on sale in India by 2024 or 2025.
