New Hyundai Creta Enters Production in Brazil – Key Details

Production of the new-generation Hyundai Creta has begun in Brazil ahead of its official debut that’s scheduled to happen on August 25, 2021. The first unit of the SUV has been rolled out at the company’s Piracicaba based facility in Brazil. One must note that the new-gen Creat is already on sale in India. The Brazil-spec model, however, will look different from the India-spec version. It will share resemblance with the Russian model.

The Brazil-spec new 2022 Hyundai Creta features a newly-designed hexagonal grille as we have seen on the Alcazar three-row SUV. In fact, its LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs seem borrowed from its 7-seater sibling. The carmaker says that the new Creta has been “built with the most advanced production and quality methodologies in Industry 4.0”. While the taillamps of the India-spec model are connected via a light strip running across the trunk lid, the Brazilian Creta misses out on it and has differently designed taillamps.

The new Hyundai Creta 2022 is claimed to offer best-in-class comfort and sophistication with features such as the segment’s largest multimedia touchscreen interface, a fully digital instrument cluster, a large panoramic sunroof, autonomous braking system, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, lane keep assist, cruise control and Hyundai BlueLink connectivity.

In Brazil, the new Creta is expected to be offered with a 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good enough for 166bhp and 201Nm of torque. There might also be a 1.0L turbocharged motor returning power worth 120bhp and 171Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 6-speed automatic gearbox delivering power to the front wheels.

The South Korean carmaker will give a mid-life update to the Hyundai Creta sometime next year. The model is currently in its testing phase and spotted number of times. The 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift will receive noticeable cosmetic and feature upgrades, while the engines and gearbox options will remain unchanged.
