Hyundai has released a couple of teaser images on its social media platform, which reveals that an all-new model is coming soon to India. The teaser comes with a tagline “Get ready to fast forward to the future. Landing here soon.” While details about the new model not revealed, we expect it could be the next-gen Hyundai Verna sedan.
The next gen Hyundai Verna has already been spotted testing numerous times on the Indian roads. Codenamed BN7i, the next-gen Hyundai Verna is reportedly to enter production in March 2023. The new model is likely to be launched by April-June 2023. The company aims to produce around 70,000 units per year, and most of its units will be reserved for exports.
The new Verna is based on the heavily modified existing platform. It will grow in size and will offer more space inside the cabin. The exterior styling will be heavily inspired from the new Elantra on sale in select international markets. The sedan will have a new parametric jewel design grille, full LED headlamps, fastback-like styling with a tapered roof and split tail-lights.
Previous spy images reveal that the new Hyundai Verna sedan will have a dual screen setup – one for the infotainment system and one for the instrument cluster. The sedan is also likely to receive a new top-spec N-line variant, which will receive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). It will offer multiple active and passive safety features including automatic emergency braking, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, lane keep assist and more.
The new-gen Hyundai Verna will be powered by a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 160PS of power. The sedan will also come a 115bhp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will be boosted with the idle start/stop technology. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
